Men’s Volleyball Handles SUNY Potsdam, 3-1

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott men's volleyball team defeated SUNY Potsdam, 3-1, on Friday night by scores of 21-25, 25-21, 25-19, and 25-13 at MacDonald Gymnasium.

Four Gulls notched double-digit kills to highlight the night. 

Aidan Iacovelli (South Windsor, Conn.) led the group with 15 kills (.433) and 11 digs.

Jake Laborde (Brookline, N.H.) filled the stat sheet with 13 putaways, seven digs, and three block assists. 

Dean Warner (Kinderhook, N.Y.) also contributed 12 kills, one service ace, four digs, and a team-high six block assists.

Logan Pohl (Longmeadow, Mass.) rounded out the quartet with a career-high 11 kills (.526), two service aces, and five block assists.  

As a team, Endicott posted a .328 hitting percentage (58K-19E-119TA) in the victory.

Tonight's matchup featured 22 ties (11-5-3-3) and nine lead changes (6-1-1-1).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott is 4-0 all-time against SUNY Potsdam (all matches ended 3-1).
  • The Gulls have won five in a row.
  • Warner buried a set-high/match-high seven kills in the opening frame (7-2-12, .417).
  • Vance Mallory (Playa del Rey, Calif.) went 25-for-26 on serve-receive and saw 17 of his receptions terminated for points (.654).
  • Iacovelli's 11 digs are a new career-high (first time w/ 10-plus digs).
  • SUNY Potsdam is 2-5 on the road this season.

Endicott (10-7, 3-0 NEVC) hosts Vermont State Johnson tomorrow at 1 PM. SUNY Potsdam (10-10, 1-2 NEVC) visits Eastern Nazarene tomorrow at 12 PM.
