BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott men's soccer team defeated Hartford, 4-0, on Friday night at Hempstead Stadium.
The Gulls kicked off the scoring in the 30th minute, when Max Karkos (Wethersfield, Conn.) netted his fourth of the season with a snipe into the lower right corner of the net from the opposite post.
The game remained 1-0 until the 53rd minute, when Keveen Delgado (Pittsfield, Mass.) snuck one into the lower right 90 from 30 yards out.
Just four minutes later, Fisher Mills (Ridgefield, Conn.) crossed one into the box that deflected off of a Hartford defender and wound up in the back of the net.
Tiago Frazao (Trumbull, Conn.) put the finishing touches on in the 80th minute, when he followed up his saved penalty kick attempt with Endicott's fourth tally of the night.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- This was the first ever meeting between the two programs.
- Frazao is second in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) scoring with eight goals on the season.
- Conor Rooney (Monroe, Conn.), Aléx Monteiro Leith (Cambridge, Mass.), and Frazao each tallied an assist in the match.
- Kevin Pelletier (Topsfield, Mass.) entered the game in the seventh minute and earned the win for the Blue and Green, improving his record to 3-2-0 on the season.
- The Endicott defense did not allow a single shot on goal in the match.
WHAT'S NEXT
Endicott (6-5-4) hosts Curry at 7 PM on Wednesday, October 18. Hartford (2-5-2) returns home on Sunday, as the Hawks welcome Trinity at 2 PM.
