No. 19/19 Men's Lacrosse Handles Roger Williams On Senior Day, 16-11

BEVERLY, Mass. – The No. 19/19 Endicott men's lacrosse team downed Roger Williams, 16-11, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Saturday afternoon at Hempstead Stadium.

Before the game, Rex Bruschi (North Attleboro, Mass.)Matt Cawley (Westwood, Mass.)Derek Gemski (Medfield, Mass.)Mason Grasso (Bow, N.H.)Zach Hojnowski (Somers, Conn.)Nick Pagluiso (Shelton, Conn.), and Christopher Tillotson (Monroe, Conn.).  

As for the contest, Tommy Tyksinski (Guilderland, N.Y.) paced all scorers with four, while Cam Fernandez (Mendham, N.J.) registered a hat-trick.

Jack Fiorillo (Mineola, N.Y.) and Pagluiso added two tallies as Guerin Favreau (Woodstock Valley, Conn.)Colt Green (Honeoye Falls, N.Y.)Aidan Kellachan (Westhampton, N.Y.)Brody MacDonald (Hanson, Mass.), and Manny Marshall (Chelmsford, Mass.) all buried solo goals.

The Hawks raced out to a three-goal lead in the first 10 minutes, but the Gulls responded with three of their own to finish the first 15 minutes tied at three apiece.

Green and Tyksinski both scored in the second quarter as the Endicott defense held Roger Williams to just one goal to take a 5-4 lead going to halftime.

The Gulls offense exploded for seven goals in the third quarter including scoring the first six in the quarter to open up an 11-4 lead with 4:48 to play in the third. Two goals by the Hawk were met with a Fernandez response for an 12-6 Endicott lead going to the fourth.

The Hawks cut the lead to four with 5:29 to play, but the Gulls scored four of the next five goals to regain its seven-goal advantage at 16-9. Roger Williams would add two late goals with under a minute to play for a final score of 16-11.

In between the pipes, Tim Luciano (Westport, Conn.) recorded nine saves in over 56 minutes of action as his record improved to 12-1 on the season. Tillotson came in for the final 3:10 of the contest.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE 

  • The Gulls move to 32-6 all-time against the Hawks and have won the last five meetings.
  • Fifth time this season Tyksinski has scored three or more goals.
  • Thomas Barker (Needham, Mass.) went 21-of-26 at the faceoff "X", while Hojnowksi was a perfect 5-5.
  • Endicott scooped up 61 ground balls in the contest compared to Roger Williams' 26.
