Estes, Ozcyz named conference players of the week
Springfield, Mass. – Two members of the nationally-ranked Endicott men’s lacrosse team have been named players of the week by The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC). Sophomore attack Brian Estes (Derry, N.H.) was named offensive player of the week while junior midfield Sam Ozycz (Cheshire, Conn.) garnered defensive player of the week honors.

Estes racked up 11 goals and three assists in the Gulls’ perfect 3-0 week against conference opponents. He opened the week with two goals in a 25-8 win at Salve Regina, added three goals and two assists in a 20-6 victory at the University of New England, and closed out play with a career-high six goals and an assist in an 18-9 victory over New England College. The win snapped a seven game win streak for the Pilgrims and kept the Gulls unblemished conference record (9-0) intact.

Ozycz averaged 14.3 ground balls per game and controlled 73% of his face-offs (61-of-84) as the Blue and Green soared to a trio of conference wins. He collected 12 ground balls in a 25-8 win over Salve, added 14 ground balls in a 20-6 triumph over UNE, and recorded 17 ground balls in an 18-9 victory over NEC.

Endicott climbed two spots to No. 18 in latest USILA Division III Coaches Poll and currently sit at 9-2 overall. The Gulls welcome the No. 1 ranked team in the country, Tufts University, on Tuesday for a pivotal nonconference showdown under the lights at Endicott Stadium at 7:00 pm.
