Baker and Grimbilas Lead Gulls to 8th Place Finish at Williams Invitational

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Behind a pair of top-10 finishes from Tyler Baker (Falmouth, Maine) and Nicholas Grimbilas (Strafford, N.H.), the Endicott men's golf team earned an eighth-place finish at the Williams College Invitational this weekend.

Baker, a sophomore, tied for seventh individually after posting a two-day total of +4 (71-75) at the 6,808 yard Taconic Golf Club. Grimbilas, a junior, finished tied for 10th, after closing the invitational +6 (71-77) in the 94 man field.

Brady Burke (Bedford, N.H.) finished the second day of the event with a round of +3, 74 to close the tournament tied for 47th (158), while Jack Bushee (Bennington, Vt.) and Clark Brown (Stowe, Vt.) finished tied for 60th and 88th, respectively.

BEYOND THE SCORECARD

  • Baker and Grimbilas led the Gulls for the second straight event after Grimbilas finished as the low man for the Gulls at the CCC Qualifier on Wednesday, with Baker finishing second for the team.
  • Burke was third for the team for the second straight contest as well.
  • The round of 71 for Baker sets a new collegiate best.

WHAT'S NEXT

The Gulls will head to Brunswick, Maine to compete in the Bowdoin Invitational on Saturday and Sunday. The Invitational will be hosted at the Brunswick Country Club.
