Field Hockey Prevails Over Southern Maine, 4-1

GORHAM, Maine — The Endicott field hockey team defeated Southern Maine, 4-1, in non-conference action on Tuesday night from Hannaford Field.

Kathleen Reissfelder (Westwood, Mass.) led the way for Endicott with two goals in the contest (24:46 | 47:44).

Meanwhile, Maddy Dengler (Winchester, Mass.) got the scoring started for the Gulls just over three minutes into the game and Lindsay Bruns (Belfast, Maine) slotted one home in the second quarter.

In goal, Alexis DeMattia (Methuen, Mass.) made nine saves to improve to 7-2 this season.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott is now 3-0 in the all-time series.
  • The Gulls beat Southern Maine by the same scoreline the first time the two programs met back in 2021 (4-1,10/28/21)
  • With an assist on Bruns' goal, Tori Swanson (Farmington, Conn.) has a point in four consecutive games.
  • Third multi-goal performance of the season for Reissfelder.

Endicott (7-2) welcomes Cabrini to campus on Saturday, September 30 at 11 AM. 

Southern Maine (6-5) hosts Keene State on Saturday at 3 PM.
