BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott College freshman \#Cassie DeSimone\# (Reading, Mass.) has been named The Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Week in field hockey, as announced by TCCC Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye on Monday afternoon. DeSimone has helped lead the Gulls to their 10-6 overall record and 6-1 mark in the TCCC with as Endicott picked up a pair of wins last week over TCCC foes.

DeSimone could not have scored her second goal of the season at a better time as the freshman scored on a penalty stroke late in the second half to lift the Gulls to a 2-1 victory over Salve Regina University on Tuesday. \#Cassie DeSimone\# was a vital part of a defense the held 2008 TCCC Champion New England College to just one score in a 4-1 victory for the Gulls on Saturday afternoon.

The Blue and Green return to action on Wednesday as Endicott hosts St. Joseph’s College in non-conference action at 6:00 p.m. on North Field. The Gulls and Monks previously met in the 2008 ECAC Quarterfinals as Endicott defeated St. Joseph’s, 1-0, at Endicott Stadium on November 15, 2008.
