Wojnarowicz Steps Down from Head Field Hockey Position

May 30, 2007

BEVERLY, MA - Endicott College Athletics Director Larry Hiser has announced the resignation of head field hockey coach Breanne Wojnarowicz. In her two seasons at the helm of the Endicott field hockey program, Wojnarowicz led the Gulls to a 29-12 overall record and an ECAC Championship last fall.

Wojnarowicz came to Endicott in an intern role after serving as the second assistant at Boston College. Breanne assisted the field hockey and lacrosse programs before earning the head field hockey position in 2005. In her first full season leading the Gulls, Wojnarowicz coached Endicott to the Commonwealth Coast Conference Semifinals where the Gulls fell to eventual champion New England College. Endicott went 6-1 in the CCC last year including a trip to the CCC Finals.

"I was extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to be part of the Endicott College community and to have coached such an incredible group of young women," said Wojnarowicz. "I would like to thank the athletic department, the young women on the field hockey team and their families for making this such a great experience in my life. I wish them all the best."

"Breanne moved our field hockey program forward in just two short years!" said Athletics Director Larry Hiser. "Yes her teams won games, but more importantly, her teams were characterized by energy and enthusiasm for the whole student-athlete experience. We wish her the best for her future."

A 2001 graduate of Providence College, Wojnarowicz was a four-year starter for the Friars. At PC, Breanne made an immediate impact by earning a spot on the Big East All Rookie Team. Wojnarowicz was also a two-time Big East First Team member, Division I Second Team Regional All American and a team captain her senior year.
