BEVERLY, MA - The Endicott College field hockey team earned the third spot in the CCC preseason coaches' poll. EC is coming off a 13-7-1 (5-3 CCC) season that included a trip to the ECAC tournament in 2005.
The Gulls tallied 53 points and received two first place votes putting them just behind defending CCC champions New England College and rivals Gordon College. NEC tallied 58 points, four first place votes, while Gordon had 56 points and two first place votes.
With only five points separating the top three teams in the conference there is a significant drop off after EC. Salve Regina sits in fourth with 33 points, while Nichols and UNE tied with 26 points to round out the top teams.
The Gulls will kick off their in conference schedule with road games at Gordon and NEC in late September.
