MEDWAY, Mass. - The Endicott College equestrian team rode well on Sunday, finishing third out of 11 schools competing in the Wellesley Horse Show at the Rising Star Equestrian Center in Medway, Mass.
Sophomore Katherine Noyes led the way for the Gulls with a first place finish in the Intermediate Fences division. Sophomore Leigh Fitzgerald and freshman Ashley Vorrias also had strong showings, finishing second in the Novice Flat and Open Flat divisions, respectively. Endicott had three riders capture third place finishes as well; senior Chelsea Conant in the Intermediate Fences division, freshman Mia Finkelstein in the Intermediate Flat division, and sophomore Kate Selig in the Novice Fences division.
With Chelsea Conant pointing out of Intermediate Fences, and Kate Selig doing the same in Novice Fences, Endicott now has riders qualified for regionals in nine classes. This is the largest number of classes the Gulls have qualified for in the team's history. The regionals will be organized by Endicott and will be held at Springtide Farm in Boxford, Mass. on March 30th.
EC's equestrian team will ride again on March 29th in their final show of the regular season at Drywater Farm in Stoughton, Mass. The show will be hosted by both Stonehill and Wheaton College.
