Endicott Riders Open Season

Endicott Riders Open Season

Oct. 9, 2005

SMITHFIELD, RI - The Endicott equestrian team struggled in its first event of the season at the show hosted by Wheaton College Saturday. With both Novice level riders unable to compete due to illness and injury, the team was at a distinct disadvantage.

However, Olivia Koines, Megan Piermarini, Karissa Bonner and Chelsea Conant each put together strong individual performances.

Koines took second place in the highly competitive Open Flat class, and finished third in Intermediate Fences. Piermarini was second in Intermediate flat while Karissa Bonner took the blue in her Flat class in that division.

Conant won Advance Walk-Trot-Canter, thus providing a Novice Level Flat and Fences rider for the competition hosted by Tufts Sunday.

Due to heavy rain, the competition was held indoors at Rising Phoenix Horse Farm, which has a small arena but offers excellent footing.

The Team will travel to Holliston, MA for a competition hosted by Tufts University at Dry Water Farm Sunday.
