Alex Loparco enters his first season as an assistant coach with the Endicott baseball program in 2023-24.

Loparco graduated from Western New England University in 2019, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and was a four-year member of the baseball program under the leadership of Endicott alum Dan Gomez '08 M'09.

A native of Riverside, Connecticut, Loparco hit .335 in 164 games played for the Golden Bears, collecting 618 at-bats, 144 runs, 207 hits, 40 doubles, four triples, six home runs and 111 RBI.

Loparco is listed seven times in the Western New England career batting record books, cracking the top ten in hits, runs scored, doubles, stolen bases, stolen base percentage, games played, and at-bats.

His awards include 2018 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Year honors, three All-CCC selections, and one All-Region nod.

Loparco led the Golden Bears to CCC championship glory in 2018 via a .373/.516/.482 with an OPS of .998, 53 runs scored, 62 hits, 11 doubles, two triples, one homer, 35 RBI, 38 walks, 12 hit-by-pitches, and 20 stolen bases on 24 attempts.

As a team during his career, Western New England went 107-58 (.648) overall, 47-15 (.758) in conference play, made four CCC postseason appearances, captured on CCC Championship (2018), and made one NCAA Regional appearance (2018),

Following his undergraduate career, Loparco transitioned to a coaching role with the program as a graduate assistant coach in addition to pursuing his Master of Science in Sport Leadership.

Loparco was heavily involved in offensive and defensive philosophy development and execution, recruiting, and operations. 

In 2023, the Golden Bears were ranked nationally in triples (2nd), triples per game (3rd), walks (26), home runs (55th), slugging percentage (75th), runs (81), double plays (9th), double plays per game (3rd), and fielding percentage (81st).

Beyond his coaching responsibilities at Western New England, Loparco served as the assistant coach for the Powerhouse Bulldogs 17U team. He has played a crucial role in guiding players through the college recruiting process, and helped the team to an impressive 33-3 record, including winning three tournaments, in 2023.
