Trio of Gulls Sweep CCC Weekly Awards

CCC RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. — The No. 1 nationally ranked Endicott baseball team swept the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) weekly awards, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Dylan Pacheco (Dartmouth, Mass.), John Connolly (Attleboro, Mass.), and Brenden Walsh (Reading, Mass.) were named the CCC Player of the Week, CCC Pitcher of the Week, and CCC Rookie of the Week, respectively.


DYLAN PACHECO | CCC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

- Pacheco slashed .444 AVG / .600 OBP / .667 SLG in No. 1 Endicott's 5-0 week (2-0 CCC).

- The senior utility man led the team with 10 RBI, 12 total bases, nine runs, and four walks on the week.

- In Tuesday's 5-3 come-from-behind win against Trinity, Pacheco went 1-for-3 with a single, a walk, and a stolen base.

- In Wednesday's 9-1 victory at MIT, he scored a game-high two runs in his 1-for-4 effort (single, walk).

- In Saturday's doubleheader sweep at Wentworth, he registered a 2-for-3 performance (home run, single) with a game-high four RBI and three runs in game one's 10-2 victory. He followed up with a 3-for-5 showing (three singles) and two RBI in game two's 9-1 win.

- On Senior Day Sunday versus MIT, he turned in a 1-for-4 performance with a game-high four RBI, three runs, and two walks in the Gulls' 15-2 win. His bases-clearing three-run double in the bottom of the eighth inning was the nail in the coffin for the Blue and Green.

- This is Pacheco's first career CCC Player of the Week award.


JOHN CONNOLLY | CCC PITCHER OF THE WEEK

- Connolly went 1-0 for the Gulls in their 5-0 week (2-0 CCC).

- The junior right-hander turned in a strong seven innings at Wentworth on Saturday, guiding the Gulls to a 9-1 win.

- In his seven innings of work, he whiffed nine Panthers batters while only allowing three hits and one earned run. He did not walk anyone in the outing.

- His effort led to his seventh win of the season (7-0 record).

- This is Connolly's third career CCC Pitcher of the Week award (3/27/23, 3/11/24).


BRENDEN WALSH | CCC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

- Walsh slashed .308 AVG / .353 OBP / .538 SLG in No. 1 Endicott's 5-0 week (2-0 CCC).

- The freshman outfielder also recorded five RBI, seven total bases, three runs, two walks, and his first career home run in the 5-0 stretch.

- On Saturday at Wentworth, he tallied a career-high three hits and two RBI in game two of the doubleheader.

- With No. 1 Endicott trailing 1-0 in the fourth inning at Wentworth on Saturday, Walsh cranked a two-run homer to left field to give the Gulls the lead. His home run proved to be the decider in the contest, as the Gulls went on to win 9-1.

- In Sunday's 15-2 win over MIT, he went 1-for-3 with a run scored, an RBI, and a walk for the Gulls.

- This marks Walsh's second career CCC Rookie of the Week award (3/26/24).


WHAT'S NEXT

No. 1 Endicott (38-2, 13-1 CCC) hosts the CCC Tournament at North Field and will play the winner of fourth-seeded Nichols vs. fifth-seeded WNE on Thursday at 12 PM.
