Haley Earns ABCA/ATEC Region 2 Coach Of The Year Honors

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott baseball head coach Bryan Haley (West Hartford, Conn.) has been voted as the 2023 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/ATEC Sports NCAA Division III Region 2 Coach of the Year.

This is Haley's first career ABCA/ATEC Regional Coach of the Year honor.

Earlier this season, Haley also received D3baseball.com Region II Coach of the Year and New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) Division III Coach of the Year accolades, respectively.

His resume now includes four Regional Coach of the Year honors, two Regional Team of the Year awards (2022-23), and five Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Coach of the Year selections (2010, 2013-14, 2022-23).

Haley led the Gulls to their first-ever College World Series appearance this season behind a 45-9 overall record (program record for victories).

Endicott captured its eighth CCC Championship, fourth under Haley, prior to winning the Bridgewater Regional and NCAA Super Regionals.

Haley's squad finished the year ranked inside the top-10 on the final Collegiate Baseball Newspaper (CBN) and D3baseball.com polls, respectively.

The Gulls were slotted fifth on the CBN Poll, a year-end program record, and sixth via D3baseball.com. The Previous school record was No. 12 overall on the 2022 CBN final poll.

Endicott also was ranked as high as No. 4 nationally throughout the season, another program record.

Meanwhile, year-end NCAA Rankings for the program included the following top-25 marks:

  • Earned Run Average (2nd, 3.25)
  • Fielding Percentage (2nd, .978)
  • Hit By Pitch (16th, 94)
  • Hits (3rd, 639)
  • Hits Allowed Per Nine Innings (1st, 7.56)
  • Home Runs (7th, 65)
  • Home Runs Per Game (25th, 1.20)
  • Runs (8th, 461)
  • Sacrifice Flies (3rd, 40)
  • Shutouts (3rd, 8)
  • Strikeout-To-Walk Ratio (8th, 2.87)
  • WHIP (1st, 1.18)
  • Win-Loss Percentage (4th, .833)
  • Walks Allowed Per Nine Innings (16th, 3.07)
