BEVERLY, Mass. — Eight members of the No. 4/8 nationally ranked Endicott baseball team have earned postseason honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and D3baseball.com.

Senior left-handed pitcher Gabe Van Emon (Lexington, Mass.) and head coach Bryan Haley headlined the group of award winners.

Van Emon was named the ABCA Region II and the D3baseball.com Region II Pitcher of the Year, respectively. He also garnered All-Region II First Team honors from both organizations.

Meanwhile, Haley received D3baseball.com Region 2 Coach of the Year accolades.

GABE VAN EMON | SR. | LHP

Van Emon is the first student-athlete in program history to earn All-Region Pitcher of the Year honors.

In 15 appearances this season (13 starts), the hard-throwing lefty is 10-1 overall with one save over 83 2/3 innings pitched. 

Van Emon currently sports a 1.51 earned run average (ERA) to go along with 105 strikeouts (11.29 K/9) and a .191 batting average against.

Van Emon ranks 30th or better in the following categories among his NCAA Division III peers: ERA (7th), hits allowed per nine innings (30th, 6.24), strikeouts (9th), victories (7th), walks plus hits per innings pitched (WHIP, 14th, 0.97).

Prior to postseason play, Van Emon led the country for the majority of the season with a sub-one ERA.

Van Emon is now a three-time All-Region selection. 

So far this season, Van Emon has compiled six postseason awards, with potentially more to come as both organizations will announce their All-America Teams later this week (D3baseball.com, 5/31 | ABCA, 6/1).


BRYAN HALEY | HEAD COACH

Haley earned D3baseball.com Region II Coach of the Year honors after leading the Gulls to historic heights this spring.

Under his guidance, Endicott has won a program record 45 games (45-7) heading into its first-ever NCAA Division III College World Series appearance on Friday against No. 10/12 Baldwin Wallace.

The Gulls have been nationally ranked as high as No. 4 via D3baseball.com and No. 6 by the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper this season, both program bests, and claimed their first and second-ever victories in a Super Regional against Ithaca at home last week.

Endicott enters the College World Series ranked first in ERA (2.89), fielding percentage (.980), hits allowed per nine innings (7.26), and WHIP (1.14).

Haley is now a two-time Region Coach of the Year (2022, NEIBA).

No. 4/8 Endicott (45-7) plays No. 10/12 Baldwin Wallace (36-10) in the opening round of the NCAA Division III College World Series on Friday, June 2 at 2:15 PM (EST).
