CCC TOURNAMENT: MacDougall Launches Walk-Off Homer To Send Endicott To Championship Round

BEVERLY, Mass. – Danny MacDougall (Taunton, Mass.) crushed a hanging breaking ball over the left field fence to lift the No. 4/6 nationally ranked Gulls past No. 13/18 Salve Regina, 8-7, in 10 innings on Friday afternoon at North Field.

Nicolas Notarangelo (Taunton, Mass.) set up MacDougall's walk-off homer with a game-tying three-run shot to right field in the seventh (7-7).

The duo homered twice in the game as MacDougall smashed a two-run game-tying homer in the fourth (4-4) after Notarangelo's second bomb of the contest cut into the deficit at 4-2 earlier in the frame.

John Mulready (Peabody, Mass.) opened up the scoring for the Gulls via the round-tripper (solo) in the third (trailing 3-1).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott snapped Salve Regina's 17-game winning streak.
  • The Seahawks entered today's contest 24-0-1 in their last 25 contests.
  • The Gulls improved to 19-0 at home this season.
  • Endicott trailed 2-0 (1st), 3-0 (end 1st), 3-1 (end 3rd), 4-1 (end top 4), 4-2 (4th), 5-4 (end 6th), and 7-4 (top 7) before finishing off the comeback.

WHAT'S NEXT

First-seeded Endicott (38-5) hosts the last remaining team from today's slate of games on Saturday, May 13 needing one win to capture the CCC Championship.

Second-seeded Salve Regina (35-7-1) will play the winner of fifth-seeded Western New England / fourth-seeded Roger Williams later tonight at North Field (approximately 6:30 PM.
