Wladkowski Headlines CCC Weekly Awards Sweep

BEVERLY, Mass. – Three members of the No. 5/8 nationally ranked Endicott baseball team have received Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) weekly awards, as announced by the league office earlier today.

Robbie Wladkowski (Norwood, Mass.) was named the CCC Player of the Week to headline the trio.

Chris Jenkins (Mansfield, Mass.) also earned CCC Pitcher of the Week honors, while TJ Liponis (Scarborough, Maine) collected CCC Rookie of the Week accolades.

Wladkowski and the Gulls put together a 5-0 record last week to close out the regular season with wins over some of the nation's toughest competition.

He slashed .350/.440/.800 against the likes of No. 12/13 Eastern Connecticut State, the defending NCAA Division III Champions, and No. 23 Tufts.

Wladkowski week consisted of a 7-for-20 performance at the plate with multiple hits in three of his five games. He also reached safely in all five contests.

Wladkowski showed plenty of power as well, hitting three home runs, driving in nine, and scoring seven times.

This is his second career CCC Player of the Week award.


CHRIS JENKINS | SO. | RHP

Jenkins earned two pivotal wins out of the pen last week for Endicott.

His first victory came on Monday (May 1) as he tossed 3 1/3 scoreless innings against No. 12/13 Eastern Connecticut State, the reigning NCAA Division III Champions.

Jenkins followed that up with 4 2/3 innings against Western New England to wrap up the CCC Regular-Season Championship in the opening game of a conference doubleheader on Saturday (May 6).

In total, Jenkins tossed eight innings, allowing five hits and striking out seven. He had a weekly earned run average (ERA) of 2.25.


TJ LIPONIS | FR. | SS

Liponis batted .353/.500/.412 in a 5-0 week for the Gulls.

He had six hits on the week, including a double, to go along with six runs, three RBI, and three walks.

Liponis had back-to-back multi-hit games including a 3-for-5 performance in game one of a CCC doubleheader against Western New England on Saturday (May 6).

First-seeded Endicott (35-5) hosts the winner of No. 7 Gordon / No. 6 Suffolk in the CCC Tournament on Wednesday, May 10 at 3 PM.
