No. 5/8 Endicott Upends No. 23 Tufts, 14-1

MEDFORD, Mass. — The No. 5/8 nationally ranked Endicott baseball team defeated No. 23 Tufts, 14-1, in non-conference action on Wednesday evening at Sol Gittleman Park.

WP (1-0): Jordan Gottesman (Acton, Mass.) — 7 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 6 K
LP (1-1): Gavin Brown (Bradenton, Fla.) — 3 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 2 K

Robbie Władkowski (Norwood, Mass.) homered and knocked in three runs to highlight the Gulls' offense which compiled 18 hits on the day.

John Mulready (Peabody, Mass.) also blasted a two-run homer in the fourth, while Danny MacDougall (Taunton, Mass.) had a solo shot in the second.

Wladkowski (2-for-6, 2 R, 3 RBI), Mulready (2-for-5, 1 R, 4 RBI), and MacDougall (4-for-4, 4 R, 2 RBI) all notched multi-hit games along with teammates Joseph Millar (Lake Hopatcong, N.J.), Nicolas Notarangelo (Taunton, Mass.), Kyle Grabowski (Westfield, Mass.), and TJ Liponis (Scarborough, Maine).

On the bump, Gottesman was sharp as the junior lefty recorded the longest outing of his collegiate career. Gottesman also retired the first 10 batters he faced to start the contest.

  • Endicott is 6-1 all-time against Tufts.
  • The Gulls have won six in a row in the series, with the last two contests featuring Tufts at No. 23 in the national rankings.
