UMass Boston Tops No. 7/11 Endicott, 9-3

BOSTON, Mass. — The No. 7/11 nationally ranked Endicott baseball team lost to UMass Boston, 9-3, in non-conference action on Wednesday evening at Monan Park.

WP (2-1): Ross Dexter (Milton, Mass.) — 6 2/3 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 7 K
LP (0-1): Ian Parent (Williston, Vt.) — 2 2/3 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 5 K

Tied 2-2 in the bottom of the fifth, the Beacons struck for three runs via an RBI single and a two-run double to distance themselves the rest of the way on the scoreboard.

UMass Boston also added a solo homer in the seventh and a three-run shot in the eighth to cap the scoring in the matchup.

As for the Endicott offense, the Gulls saw Kyle Grabowski (Westfield, Mass.), Nicolas Notarangelo (Taunton, Mass.), and Patrick Tevenan (South Weymouth, Mass.) drive in solo runs in the first (single), fifth (double), and eighth (sac fly), respectively.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Beacons are 5-1 at home this season.
  • Endicott fell to 7-4 on the road this spring.
  • UMass Boston has won three straight games.
  • Joseph Millar (Lake Hopatcong, N.J.) registered his third three-hit game of the year (3-for-3, 2 runs, 1 double).
  • Notarangelo produced his first multi-extra-base hit game of the season.

Endicott (16-4) visits Curry on Saturday, April 8 for a doubleheader starting at 11 AM. UMass Boston (13-6) travels to Roger Williams tomorrow at 3 PM.
