No. 7/14 Baseball Sweeps Salve Regina; Coach Haley Earns 400th Career Win In Game One

BEVERLY, Mass. — The No. 7/14 nationally ranked Endicott baseball team swept a pair of conference games against Salve Regina, 11-3 and 4-1, on Sunday evening at North Field.

In game one, Gulls' skipper Bryan Haley earned his 400th career victory. Haley is now 401-232 (.633) since taking over the program in 2008.

GAME ONE: No. 7/14 Endicott 11, Salve Regina 3

WP (2-1): Rian Schwede (Whitman, Mass.) — 7 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 5 K
LP (3-2): Brayden Clark (Beverly, Mass.) — 5 1/3 IP, 7 H, 8 R, 8 ER, 4 BB, 5 K

Endicott produced 10 combined runs in the middle innings (4-5-6) to run away with game one.

Kyle Grabowski (Westfield, Mass.) highlighted the four-run fifth inning with a two-run homer to left center to give the Gulls a 5-2 advantage.

In the sixth, Nicolas Notarangelo (Taunton, Mass.) worked a bases loaded walk to make it 6-2 before Robbie Wladkowski (Norwood, Mass.) blasted a grand slam to deep left field to cap the five-run frame and put the game out of reach.

Schwede was just as pivotal to the win as the senior righty shut down Salve Regina immediately after giving up a two-run homer in the second.

Schwede only allowed two hits for the remainder of the contest, tossed three 1-2-3 innings, and did not allow a single runner to reach second base the rest of the way.

GAME TWO: No. 7/14 Endicott 4, Salve Regina 1

WP (3-0): Gabe Van Emon (Lexington, Mass.) — 7 IP, 6 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 9 K
LP (2-1): Graham Jeffries (Chelmsford, Mass.) — 4 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 5 K

The Gulls raced out to a 4-0 lead through the first four innings and let Van Emon handle the rest.

Danny MacDougall (Taunton, Mass.) highlighted the offense with a two-run shot to left field in the fourth inning.

Wladkowski (single) and Notarangelo (sac fly) also drove in runs in the victory.
