No. 8/10 Baseball Upends Saint Joseph’s (Me.), 15-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – The No. 8/10 nationally ranked Endicott baseball team defeated Saint Joseph's (Me.), 15-0, in non-conference action on Tuesday evening at North Field.

WP (1-0): John Connolly (Attleboro, Mass.) – 7 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 K
LP (0-2): Jason Johnson (Thomaston, Conn.) – 4 IP, 7 H, 8 R, 8 ER, 4 BB, 2 K

Caleb Shpur (East Canaan, Conn.), Nicolas Notarangelo (Taunton, Mass.), Kyle Grabowski (Westfield, Mass.), Robbie Wladkowski (Norwood, Mass.), and TJ Liponis (Scarborough, Maine) all homered in the contest to headline the victory.

Joseph Millar (Lake Hopatcong, N.J.) and the five aforementioned Gulls also knocked in at least two runs apiece to round out the list of offensive highlights.

On the bump, Connolly was stellar in the longest outing of his career as the sophomore compiled four 1-2-3 innings and retired 11 batters in a row spanning the first four innings.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Connolly is 3-0 all-time in his career.
  • Today's meeting was the 31st in the all-time series (started in 1996).
  • Endicott's five homers rank tied for second all-time in a single game.
  • Shpur leads the team with five homers this season.
