No. 5 Chapman Edges No. 10/10 Endicott, 13-11

ORANGE, Calif. — The No. 10/10 nationally ranked Endicott baseball team fell to No. 5 nationally ranked Chapman, 13-11, in non-conference on Monday night at Hart Park.

LP (0-1): Kyan Bagshaw (Amherst, N.H.) — 2 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 K
SV (3): Henry Chabot (Paradise Valley, Ariz.) — 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 0 K

Trailing 10-1 in the top of the sixth inning, Endicott erupted for nine runs to even up the contest.

Joseph Millar (Lake Hopatcong, N.J.) and Kyle Grabowski (Westfield, Mass.) highlighted the frame with a two-run triple and a three-run triple, respectively. 

The Gulls also saw Nicolas Notarangelo (Taunton, Mass.) tie up the score once again in the seventh inning at 11-11 via a sacrifice fly to center, but multiple miscues in the bottom half of the frame allowed Chapman to secure the victory.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Chapman is 6-8 at home this season.
  • The Gulls had their five-game winning streak snapped.
  • Tonight's meeting was the first between the two programs.

No. 10/10 Endicott (5-1) is scheduled to play La Verne on Thursday, March 16 at 6 PM (EST). No. 5 Chapman (7-8) hosts Whittier this Friday at 3 PM (PDT).
