No. 10/10 Baseball Breaks Away From No. 28 Pomona-Pitzer, 7-2

CLAREMONT, Calif. – The No. 10/10 nationally ranked Endicott baseball team defeated No. 28 Pomona-Pitzer, 7-2, in non-conference action on Sunday evening at Alumni Field.

SV: (2): Max Tarlin (Sharon, Mass.) – 1 2/3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K

Leading 3-2 in the top of the ninth inning, the Gulls erupted for three runs to secure the first win of their California spring break trip.

Liam Crovo (Melrose, Mass.) drove two runs in with a towering single to right field that plated John Mulready (Peabody, Mass.) and Dylan Pacheco (Dartmouth, Mass.). The duo got the inning jumpstarted with back-to-back singles before eventually moving up to second/third.

TJ Liponis (Scarborough, Maine) and Joseph Millar (Lake Hopatcong, N.J.) also helped push across runs in the frame (single to center, ground out to first).

Aside from the ninth inning outburst, Nicolas Notarangelo (Taunton, Mass.) crushed a two-run homer to center in the first (2-0), while Kyle Grabowski (Westfield, Mass.) made it 3-0 with a solo blast to right center in the second.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott evened up the all-time series against Pomona-Pitzer, 2-2.
  • Today's game was the first road contest of the season for the Gulls.
  • Pomona-Pitzer is 5-5 at home this season.
