No. 10/10 Baseball Handles Brandeis, 20-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – The No. 10/10 nationally ranked Endicott baseball team defeated Brandeis, 20-0, in non-conference action on Tuesday night at North Field.

WP (1-0): Gabe Van Emon (Lexington, Mass.) – 6 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K
LP (0-1): Winston Wacha (Newton, Mass.) – 1 IP, 7 H, 10 R, 7 ER, 2 BB, 1 K
SV (1): Brady Stuart (Hudson, Mass.) – 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K

Every starter in the lineup recorded at least one hit in the victory.

Caleb Shpur (East Canaan, Conn.) headlined the offense with a pair of homers and six RBI.

Shpur hit a solo shot in the first (1-0), belted a three-run bomb (6-0) and lifted a sac fly to center in the Gulls' 12-run third inning (17-0), and added a run-producing triple in the eighth (18-0).

Kyle Grabowski (Westfield, Mass.) also launched a grand slam to left field in the second inning (12-0) to round out the list of highlights.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott is 7-6 all-time against Brandeis.
  • Stuart registered his first career save.
  • Van Emon earned his ninth career win.
