Baseball Trio Claims CCC Weekly Honors

CCC RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – Three student-athletes from the No. 9/12 nationally ranked Endicott baseball team have earned weekly awards from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), as announced by the league earlier today.

John Mulready (Peabody, Mass.) highlighted the trio with his third career CCC Player of the Week award.

Rian Schwede (Whitman, Mass.) also received Pitcher of the Week accolades, while TJ Liponis (Scarborough, Maine) was named the league's Rookie of the Week.

JOHN MULREADY | JR. | C

Mulready got his 2023 campaign off to a hot start last week as he helped the Gulls earn a 7-0 season-opening win over Salem State on Friday (March 3).

Mulready was perfect at the plate in the contest, going 4-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

He had one extra-base hit – a triple – and produced his 15th career multi-hit game.

RIAN SCHWEDE | SR. | RHP

Schwede was dominant in his first start of the season for Endicott. He tossed seven shutout innings for the Gulls as they defeated Salem State, 7-0.

Schwede only allowed four hits in the outing and struck out two, while earning the win. He retired the side in order four times and allowed only two runners into scoring position.

This is his second career CCC Pitcher of the Week award.

TJ LIPONIS | FR. | INF

Liponis went 1-for-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base in his collegiate debut for Endicott on Friday (March 3).

He helped the Gulls get their season off on a winning note as they defeated Salem State, 7-0.

This is Liponis' first career weekly award.
