ENDICOTT ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME, CLASS OF 2023

CAITLIN PETERS '13, WOMEN'S SOCCER

Often considered the best defensive player in program history, Caitlin Peters has more than enough accolades to back up that claim.

Peters is the only student-athlete in the program to earn multiple CCC Defensive Player of the Year awards (2011-12) and All-Region Defensive Player of the Year honors (ECAC, 2012).

In total, Peters was a four-time All-CCC selection (3 first team, 1 second team) and a 10-time All-Region award winner (4 first team, 4 second team, 2 third team).

The 2012-13 Endicott Female Athlete of the Year honoree was just as successful in the classroom earning CoSIDA Academic All-District and CCC Academic All-Conference accolades during her senior season.

Peters, who doubled as Endicott's NCAA Woman of the Year nominee in 2012-13, also won a CCC Championship (2009) and an ECAC Championship (2012) as a Gull.

As a team, Endicott went 60-25-7 overall (.690), 36-7-3 in conference (.815), and made one NCAA Tournament appearance (2009).

"Caitlin epitomizes everything that a coach would want from the team's best leader. She was a calming presence during high-pressure situations when most had difficulty. Day in and day out she was the hardest worker, demanded excellence from herself and others, and was the measure of most every other soccer player on the field because of her skills," said Assistant Vice President, Director of Athletics Dr. Brian A. Wylie. "Very few could match her attention to detail, field awareness, and her own ability just to be better than almost every other opposing player. Caitlin was dominant, whom often frustrated opposing players, but did this in the most humbling and compassionate way. And her smile said it all. As a person and a player, she is one of the most respected individuals that Endicott has ever had."

"Being inducted into the Endicott Athletics Hall of Fame for women's soccer is truly an honor. I tell people all the time that if I could go back to Endicott to be a student-athlete I would do it all over again in a heartbeat," said Peters. "It was a privilege to learn from and play for Coach Kenyon. I was also very fortunate to have played alongside so many other talented players I was lucky enough to call my teammates. I am grateful for my parents who supported me every step of the way and never missed a game. As a student-athlete, I learned so many invaluable life lessons and to this day cherish all the experiences it afforded me. Endicott will forever hold a special place in my heart!"

KAMAHL WALKER '17, MEN'S BASKETBALL

Kamahl Walker took the men's basketball program and Endicott College to new heights during his illustrious career (2013-17).

As a senior (2016-17), Walker led the Gulls all the way to the Sweet 16, marking the furthest NCAA Tournament appearance ever made by a men's program in school history, at the time.

Endicott earned an at-large selection into that year's tournament, another first for the College.

Walker and the rest of his senior class also recorded a single-season 24 wins in 2016-17, solidifying their standing as the winningest senior class in program history (84-34).

As a group, the Gulls won two CCC Championships (2014-15, 2015-16) and made three NCAA Tournament appearances.

Walker's individual awards were just as impressive. The point guard earned six All-Region honors, the 2014-15 CCC Co-Player of the Year award, 2015-16 Endicott Co-Male Athlete of the Year honors, and three All-CCC First Team selections.

He ended his career as Endicott's all-time leading scorer, finishing with 1,889 career points (second all-time in scoring average, 17.2). Walker also paced the program in field goals made (631), field goals attempted (1,370), free throws made (430), and free throws attempted (537) at the time of graduation.

"When I think of Kamahl as a person, the first thing that resonates with me is Kamahl's infectious smile and laugh, and a genuine feeling of positivity. When I first met him as a first-year student, I was amazed at how polite and respectful, and soft-spoken he was, and I remember saying to myself 'How can somebody this nice, and calming, without an observable edge to him make a significant impact on the basketball court?' That quickly changed the first 10 seconds I watched him on the court. He's arguably one of the best basketball student-athletes Endicott has ever had," said Wylie. "Offensively, he did it all. His overall skill, unparalleled quickness that made others look completely overmatched, and unwavering determination to win, was a gift for all who were able to experience his play. With Kamahl now working in college athletics, I'm quite certain he will have a profound impact on mentoring student-athletes and sharing his gift of competitiveness. It is without question that Kamahl Walker and the legacy he's left at the College, is deserving of the Endicott Athletics Hall of Fame."

"Being inducted into the Endicott Athletics Hall of Fame is a dream come true. This is an accomplishment only a few students get a chance to experience in their lifetime. For me, it was a privilege just getting into college, but to be able to play the sport I love on a successful team for four years, with teammates and coaches who I considered family, was a blessing to be a part of," said Walker. "I want to thank everyone at Endicott College and the Endicott Athletics department who believed in a kid from Worcester, Mass., and showed me, it is okay to leave your comfort zone to experience something truly amazing. I would not be the athlete I was or the person I am today without the experiences I learned while being a Gull. It is and forever will be truly an honor. Thank you. Forever A Gull."
