Endicott defeated 5th seeded Roger Willams University 3 - 0 (30-17, 30-17, 30-26) to advance to the conference semi-finals for the second time in as many years.
The Gulls started off strong in the first game with only three hitting errors and big service runs by Killeen Ross and Susan Teta. In the second game, Kristen Altieri and Patty Mikan combined for a 13-point scoring run. Endicott closed out the second game with a 15-3 scoring run. As fan noise grew in the third game, the game became closer and intensity grew as the game was tied 25-25, but Endicott pushed harder and won 30-26.
Freshman middle hitter, Sara Moore led the attack for Endicott, hitting .429% (11k-2e/21att). Outside hitter, Mikan was the kill leader with 14, hitting .357% (14k-4e/28att). Mikan also paced the defense with 16 digs.
Altieri and fellow setter Krystan Sylva ran a balanced offense with 18 and 14 assists respectively. Teta was the block leader with one solo and three assists. Teta's blocking was just the start of the Gulls defense as the team combined for three solo and eight assist blocks.
Outside hitters Sara White and Erin Carolan led the attack for Roger Williams, combining for 18 kills. Defensively, libero Ashley O'Keefe tallied 15 digs while Carolan added in thirteen.
The Gulls will travel to \#1 seed Colby-Sawyer this Thursday for a 7:00 PM start in what will be a rematch of last season's semifinal match. This year the Gulls will be looking to turn the tables on the Chargers and advance to the CCC Championship Match for the first time in the programs history.
