Women’s Tennis Turns Away Hartford On Senior Day, 7-0
BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's tennis team defeated Hartford, 7-0, in Conference of New England (CNE) action on Saturday afternoon at the South Campus Tennis Courts.
Before the match, student-athletes Samantha Hartmann (Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J.) and Ashley Klauck (Magnolia, Texas) were honored for their contributions to the program and the Endicott College community in a Senior Day ceremony.
In doubles, No. 2 Emily Leclerc (Manchester, N.H.) / Caroline Sutliffe (Duxbury, Mass.), No. 3 Hartmann / Amber Woods (Scarborough, Mass.), and No. 1 Jillian Friedman (Austin, Texas) / Nadia Uzelac (Waltham, Mass.) all won with 6-0 scores to capture the point.
The Gulls continued their dominance in singles as No. 3 Uzelac, No. 2 Sutliffe, and No. 5 Hartmann collected 6-0, 6-0 triumphs.
Klauck (No. 6, 6-1, 6-0), Fleming (No.4, 6-0, 6-1), and Leclerc (No. 1, 6-2, 6-1) also secured victories in the sweep for the Blue and Green.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- First-ever matchup between the two programs.
- Uzelac improved to 6-0 in her singles matches this season.
- Friedman and Uzelac are 5-0 as a doubles pairing (4-0 CNE, 4-0 at No. 1, 1-0 at No. 2).
- Klauck is 2-0 in singles this fall (all at No. 6).
- Hartmann is also 2-0 in singles this season (1-0 at No. 5, 1-0 at No. 6).

Endicott (5-2, 4-1 CNE) visits Connecticut College on Sunday, October 5 at 12 PM. Hartford (0-7, 0-4 CNE) visits Nichols on Wednesday, October 8 at 3:30 PM.
