Nichols Doubles Up Endicott, 6-3

DUDLEY, Mass. — The Endicott women's tennis team fell, 6-3, to Nichols College Friday afternoon at the Robinson Tennis Courts. 

In doubles play, the Gulls took two out of three matches. At No. 1 the team of Gretta Hartman (Glastonbury, Conn.) and Cameron Foley (Lynnfield, Mass.) earned an 8-5 win and at No. 3 the team of Olivia Berler (Marstons Mills, Mass.) and Ashley Keaveney (Exeter, N.H.) came away with an 8-6 victory.

Meanwhile, in singles, Nichols won five out of six matches, securing wins at No. 1 (6-0, 6-0), No. 3 (6-3, 6-1), No. 4 (6-3, 6-0), No. 5 (6-1, 6-0), and No. 6 (6-1, 6-4).

For the Gulls, in singles, Justine Hoover (Wallingford, Conn.) notched a hard-fought 1-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-6) triumph at the No. 3 spot.

"It was a tough result, but there were a lot of positives we can take from the day," said Endicott's head women's tennis coach Anthony D'Angelo. "We'll iron some things out in practice, and continue building for October."

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

This afternoons victories were the first for the teams of Hartman and Foley, and Berler, and Keaveney. 

WHAT'S NEXT 

Endicott (2-2, 0-1 CCC) will travel to Holy Cross on Monday, September 16 for 4 PM match. Nichols (2-1, 1-0 CCC) will compete in the Holy Cross Doubles Tournament on Saturday, September 14 starting at 10 AM.
