PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The Endicott women's soccer team erased a 1-0 deficit to defeat Johnson & Wales, 2-1, in Saturday afternoon's Conference of New England (CNE) road matchup.
After a slow first half that saw the Wildcats take a 1-0 lead into halftime, the Gulls found some late offense to rally back against the hosts.
Lily Miller (Warwick, R.I.) broke loose for a 50th minute equalizer after she one-timed Finley Barker's (Underhill, Vt.) right-wing feed for her second goal of the season.
Then, in the 74th, Alyssa McColl (Stoughton, Mass.) placed a high corner kick in front of the net, and Eliza Walker (Marshfield, Mass.) cleaned up the loose ball down in front to put the Gulls up, 2-1, with just 16 minutes left to play.
From there, the back line of Michelle Donahue (Melrose, Mass.), Madeline Barbieri (Cranston, R.I.), Rhiann Dugan (West Boylston, Mass.), and Chloe Bauman (Southington, Conn.) stood tall to finish off the Wildcats and solidify the Gulls as 2-1 road victors.
Samantha MacCormack (Danvers, Mass.) made her second start of the season in net and improved to 2-1-0 after her three-save afternoon.
