No. 1 Women’s Rugby Puts Away Plymouth State In Season-Opener, 56-7
HOLDERNESS, N.H. – The No. 1 nationally ranked Endicott women's rugby team defeated Plymouth State, 56-7, in its season opener on Saturday afternoon at Panther Field.
Chloe Marconi (North Andover, Mass.) highlighted the Gulls with a match-high three tries.
Laila Baer (Pasadena, Calif.), Kaila Bartolotti (Honeoye Falls, N.Y.), Natalie Beauregard (East Calais, Vt.), Laryssa Landmesser (Hudson, N.H.), and Caitlin Padeck (Easthampton, Mass.) all contributed one try each during the match.
Padeck buried six conversions, while Marconi rounded out the offense with two conversions.
For her efforts on defense, Cai Machuga (Dennis, Mass.) received the Defensive Player of the Match for her textbook tackles, while Marconi was named Attacking Player of the Match for her on-field leadership and three tries scored.
