MARIETTA, Ga. – The Endicott club women's rugby team lost to Wayne State College, 90-12, in the National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) 15s National Championship match on Sunday afternoon, which was hosted by Life University.

Wayne State captured its fourth straight NSCRO 15s national title and sixth 15s crown overall with today's win. Counting 15s and 7s play, Wayne State has now won 11 NSCRO National Championships in its storied program history.

As for Endicott, the Gulls saw Amanda Poulin (Turner, Maine) and Christi Chapman both score tries, while Kelsey Joyce (Wharton, N.J.) notched one conversion.

Joyce was also awarded the NSCRO 15s National Championship "Heart and Soul Award" for Endicott. Each team in the national championship nominates a student-athlete who best exemplifies the "heart and soul" of their team.

Meanwhile, Nicole McCardle (Castleton, Vt.), Shannon O'Malley (Lewiston, Maine), and Amanda Wisbeck (Hong Kong, China) joined Joyce on the NSCRO 15s National Championship All-Tournament Team.

YEAR IN REVIEW

Endicott posted an 11-1 overall record and perfect 8-0 mark in conference play en route to capturing the Colonial Coast Rugby Conference (CCRC) Championship, the NSCRO Regional Tournament Title, and a second place performance in the NSCRO 15s National Championship.

Today's runner-up finish marks the highest national championship placement in program history for the Gulls either in 15s or 7s play.
