CHC WEEKLY RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott women's ice hockey student-athletes Vendela Jonsson (Linkoping, Sweden) and Jillian Gibbs (Burlington, Vt.) have earned Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) Co-Goaltender and Rookie of the Week accolades, respectively, for their efforts in games played from November 28 to December 4. Jade Meier (Fairbanks, Alaska) also was named to the honor roll.

CHC WEEKLY AWARD WINNERS

Jonsson, who shares the CHC Goaltender of the Week award with Madison Rigsby of Becker College, stopped 31 shots (one shy of her season-high) in a 4-1 win over William Smith last Sunday evening. Her 14 saves in the third period were a game-high for either program.

Meanwhile, Gibbs keyed Endicott's 2-0-0 weekend against Saint Michael's and William Smith by compiling two goals and two assists for four points. On Saturday versus Saint Michael's, Gibbs scored a career-high two goals, including a half-ice breakaway tally, before she notched two primary assists on Sunday setting up Meier twice with perfect scoring chances. Along with a four-point weekend, Gibbs finished +4 and also recorded one blocked shot.

Meier led the Gulls in points last weekend with five total on three goals and two assists. On Saturday against Saint Michael's, Meier recorded a career-high three points behind a power play goal and two assists, before she netted two tallies including the game-winner versus William Smith on Sunday.

Endicott (9-0-0, 6-0-0 CHC) returns to action this Friday when the Gulls host Wesleyan (Conn.) at Raymond J. Bourque Arena for a non-conference matchup at 7 p.m.
