Men’s Cross Country Earns Runner-Up Honors At Pop Crowell Invitational

WENHAM, Mass. — The Endicott men's cross country team finished second overall out of six teams at the Pop Crowell Invitational, hosted by Gordon College, on Saturday afternoon.

Plymouth State ranked first overall behind a score of 20 points. The Gulls followed with 59 points, while Gordon (81), the University of New England (88), Wentworth (141), and Emerson (142) rounded out the rest of the field.

Connor Coffin (Scarborough, Maine) and Matt Morneau (Lowell, Mass.) placed fourth (26:38.6) and fifth (27:06.7), respectively, to highlight the Gulls on the 8-kilometer course.

Meanwhile, Caleb Nye (Hinesburg, Vt.) was seventh overall (27:19.1), Cooper Downey (Hudson, N.H.) checked in at 27th (29:04.6), and Andrew Lauzon (North Andover, Mass.) crossed the line in 28th place (29:05.1) to make up the remainder of Endicott's scoring lineup.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • The Gulls had eight student-athletes PR in today's race.
  • Coffin, Morneau, Nye, Dimitri Kontos (Lexington, Mass.), Hunter Boucher (Lowell, Mass.), Enzo Guarnieri (Waterford, Conn.), Luke Fidrych (Beverly, Mass.), and Shaun Covel (Plymouth, Mass.) comprised the list.
  • Endicott averaged a time of 27:50 on the 8-kilometer course as a team.

Endicott competes at the Keene State Invitational on Saturday, October 1 at 10 AM.
