Men’s Cross Country Places Fourth In CCC Championship

BRISTOL, R.I. — The Endicott men's cross country team finished fourth overall out of eight teams at the 2019 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship, hosted by Roger Williams University, on Saturday morning at Colt State Park.

The University of New England (UNE) captured its second straight CCC title behind 38 points, while Wentworth (76), Nichols (82), Endicott (99), and Roger Williams (103) rounded out the top-5.  

Individually, Will Connelly (Barrington, R.I.) and Adam Germaine (Guilford, Conn.) highlighted the Gulls with CCC All-Conference performances.

Connelly led the pack for the Gulls finishing in seventh place (26:56.48), while Germaine came in 13th place (27:20.49). Runners who finish inside the top-15 of the race earn CCC All-Conference honors.

Meanwhile, Jack McGuire (Hopkinton, Mass.), Zachary Heffernan (Biddeford, Maine), and Marcus Poccia (West Greenwich, R.I.) finished 21st (27:34.19), 23rd (27:37.19), and 36th (28:23.64) overall to conclude Endicott's top-5. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Connelly earned his second career CCC All-Conference honor.
  • It also marked Connelly's highest finish at a CCC Championship in his career.
  • Germaine claimed his first career CCC All-Conference award. 
  • Connelly, Heffernan, Germaine, and McGuire all posted personal records today on the 8-kilometer course.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott will travel to Brunswick, Maine for the NCAA DIII New England Regionals on Saturday, November 16 (time TBD).
