Bryn Lipton Named NECC Men’s Volleyball Player Of The Week

NECC PLAYER OF THE WEEK RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott men's volleyball junior outside hitter Bryn Lipton (Rockford, Ill.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Men's Volleyball Player of the Week. It was announced by the league earlier today.

Over the first five matches to start the season, Lipton guided Endicott to a 3-2 overall record with wins over Wells, Elmira, and No. 4 Kean. Three of the five opponents the Gulls faced over the first two weekends of the season were ranked in the top-10 in the country by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).

In those five matches, Lipton compiled 2.68 kills per set (59 total), a .266 hitting percentage, 0.77 service aces per set (17 total), 1.50 digs per set (33 total), 0.32 blocks per set (1 solo, 6 assisted), and 3.6 points per set (80.0 total).

Lipton tallied double-digit kills in four of the five matches, while also posting a double-double with 14 digs against No. 7 Stevenson. Lipton's best match of the week came against No. 4 Kean, as the junior outside hitter registered a match-high 14 kills, to go along with a .344 hitting percentage, one assist, four service aces, eight digs and two blocks (one solo, one assisted).

The win for Endicott marked the highest nationally ranked opponent the Gulls have ever beaten in program history.

  • This is Lipton's sixth career NECC Men's Volleyball Player of the Week award.
  • He has won the award on the following dates: 2/13/17, 3/13/17, 3/27/17, 2/5/18, 4/2/18, 1/28/19.
