  • Endicott Exits NCAA Tournament in Quarterfinal Round with Straight-Set Loss to Springfield

    HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Endicott men’s volleyball team saw their 2014 season come to a close on Friday afternoon in the NCAA Division III Tournament Quarterfinals as the Gulls lost in straight sets (25-9, 25-10, 25-21) to top-ranked Springfield College, the two-time defending NCAA champions.

    BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men’s volleyball team advanced past the First Round of the NCAA Division III Tournament and will take on the nation’s top-ranked team in the Second Round after the Gulls swept #6 MIT in straight sets (25-15, 25-20, 27-25) on Saturday afternoon in MacDonald Gymnasium. The win was Endicott’s first in two NCAA postseason appearances as the Gulls are one of eight teams remaining in the tournament.

    BEVERLY, Mass. – After going 11-1 in conference play during the regular season and defeating Regis (Mass.) and Daniel Webster to collect their second straight NECC Championship, the Endicott men’s volleyball receive several individual accolades from the NECC including Defensive Player of the Year honors to senior libero Aaron Jessee (Okinawa, Japan) and the Coach of the Year award to second-year coach George Chapell.

    INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Selection Show for the NCAA Division III Men’s Volleyball Tournament revealed that Endicott, automatic qualifiers by right of winning the NECC Championship, will host at-large bid winners MIT on Saturday, April 19th at MacDonald Gymnasium in a First Round match up. Game time has not yet been determined.

    BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men’s volleyball team will be heading to the NCAA Division III Tournament for the second straight season with an automatic qualifying bid after capturing the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Championship with a 3-1 (22-25, 25-19, 25-23, 25-18) victory over Daniel Webster on Saturday afternoon in MacDonald Gymnasium.

    BEVERLY, Mass. – On Saturday, April 12th, the 2014 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Men’s Volleyball Championship will be decided between top-seeded Endicott (16-13) and #2 seed Daniel Webster (13-13) after both the Gulls and the Eagles won their semifinal matches on Friday evening in Endicott’s MacDonald Gymnasium.

    BEVERLY, Mass. – With the regular season completed, the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) released the official seeding information, match dates, and start times for NECC Tournament which will determine which school earns a bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament. Endicott (16-12, 11-1) finished atop the conference standings during the regular season and will be the top seed with home-court advantage.

    SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Endicott men’s volleyball wrapped up their regular season on Saturday with their final two matches at the Springfield Invitational and suffered two losses to Marymount (Va.) in five sets and #7 Stevens in straight sets. The Gulls fell to 16-12 overall on the season and will now wait for the NECC Tournament to begin on April 11th where they have home-court advantage as the bracket’s top seed.

    SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – On day one of the Springfield Invitational, the Endicott men’s volleyball nearly upset the #9 ranked team in the country, Medaille, in a five-set match and suffered a straight-set loss to #2 Springfield as the Gulls continue the home stretch towards the NECC Tournament. The Gulls (16-10) will look to rebound tomorrow against Marymount (Va.) and #7 Stevens on day two of the invitational.
  • Endicott Wins in Straight Sets on Senior Day over Newbury

    BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men’s volleyball celebrated the careers of seven seniors on Thursday evening with a 3-0 (25-11, 25-21, 25-23) victory over Newbury to wrap up their NECC regular season schedule. The Gulls got career-high eight kills from senior right side Brandon Chadwick (Chelmsford, Mass.) and another eight from senior right side Josh Anderson (La Canada, Calif.) and six kills from senior middle Mike Coniglione (Glenville, N.Y.) as the Blue and Green head into their regular season finale weekend at the Springfield Invitational with a 16-8 overall record.

The Gulls hit .329 as a team and got a team-high 10 kills and four blocks from senior middle Travis Netherton (Waukegan, Ill.) as Endicott wrapped up their third regular season win over the Eagles on Saturday.

    BEVERLY, Mass. – Three weeks after suffering their first NECC regular season loss in a road match to Southern Vermont in five sets, the Endicott men’s volleyball team rebounded to beat the Mountaineers on their home court 3-1 (25-16, 26-24, 19-25, 25-10) behind a career-high 15 kills from the reigning conference player of the week Brennan Lowe (Malibu, Calif.).

    CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Two Endicott spring student-athletes received additional recognition for their performance last week as baseball’s junior second baseman Harry Oringer (Dartmouth, Mass.) and men’s volleyball’s senior outside hitter Brennan Lowe (Malibu, Calif.) were named Corvias Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Players of the Week after being awarded conference accolades on Monday.

  • Brennan Lowe Earns First Ever Weekly Award with NECC Player of the Week Honors

    BEVERLY, Mass. – For the first time in his collegiate career, senior outside hitter Brennan Lowe (Malibu, Calif.) received Player of the Week honors as his outstanding efforts in helping Endicott secure two wins over New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) opponents earned him this week’s league honors. Twice, Lowe tied his career-high of 12 kills in both victories over Elms and Regis (Mass.) while making just one error the entire week for a .676 attack percentage.

    WESTON, Mass. – The Endicott men’s volleyball team dropped the first set to New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) opponent Regis (Mass.) on Thursday evening but rattled off three straight set wins to improve to 7-1 in NECC play with a 3-1 (24-26, 25-14, 25-14, 25-14) victory. Gulls senior outside hitter Brennan Lowe (Malibu, Calif.) tied his career-high of 12 kills for second straight match and did not make an error as the Gulls sported an exception .471 hitting percentage as a team.
  • Men's Volleyball Sweeps NECC Rival Elms to Leap Back Atop Conference Standings

    CHICOPEE, Mass.- The Endicott men's volleyball team traveled west looking to get back on the winning track and the team was able to do just that as they swept NECC rival Elms in impressive fashion on Wednesday night. Endicott was able to sweep Elms by scores of 25-8, 25-16 and 25-16 to also sweep the regular season series. The win elevates the Gulls to 6-1 in NECC play and 11-8 overall as the Blazers fall to 3-3 and 5-12 overall.
  • Endicott Men's Volleyball Travels to UC Santa Cruz Weekend Invitational

    SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – The Endicott men’s volleyball program took on two top-10 nationally-ranked opponents in #8 UC Santa Cruz and #6 Rivier at the Slug Slam Invitational over the weekend and in two matches against the host Banana Slugs and one against the Raiders, the Gulls went 0-3 on the weekend. Endicott fell to 10-8 overall on the season and now turn their focus to back to New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) play with a road match against Elms on Wednesday, March 19th at 6:00 pm.
  • Endicott Splits on Day Two of Endicott Invitational

    BEVERLY, Mass. – On day two of the Endicott Invitational, the Endicott men’s volleyball team split a pair of non-conference matches against Skyline Conference opponent Sage and Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) rival and the nation’s #5-ranked Rivier Raiders. The Gulls swept Sage 3-0 (25-22, 29-27, 27-25) but lost to Rivier in four sets (25-20, 27-25, 23-25, 25-13).
  • George Chapell Named an AVCA Thirty Under 30 Recipient

    LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) presented their fifth annual Thirty Under 30 Award recipients and second-year Endicott men’s volleyball coach George Chapell ’08 was recognized as one of the up-and-coming volleyball coaches at any level. Chapell was one of just three NCAA Division III coaches to be placed on the AVCA’s Thirty Under 30 list which included Wentworth men’s coach Evin Giglio and McDaniel women’s coach Jessica Cortese.

    BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men’s volleyball team hosted day one of their annual invitational as the Gulls took on New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) opponent Daniel Webster for the second time this season. After sweeping the Eagles in the season opener in early February, the Gulls needed five sets to upend their league rivals 3-2 (25-22, 22-25, 20-25, 25-23, 15-11) to improve to 9-4 (5-1 NECC) on the season.

    BENNINGTON, Vt. – Playing without their kill leader on the outside and a high-impact middle, the Endicott men’s volleyball lost in five sets (25-22, 25-21, 18-25, 19-25, 17-15) to Southern Vermont and suffered their first regular season loss to a New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) opponent since joining the league in 2012. The Gulls had gone 12-0 in regular season conference play in both 2012 and 2013 and were 4-0 heading into tonight’s road match, a streak of 28 straight wins.
  • NECC Names Carter Roche Player of the Week for Third Time

    BEVERLY, Mass. – For the third time this season, Endicott men’s volleyball senior setter and captain Carter Roche (Clifton Park, N.Y.) was named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week as he continues to lead the conference with a 10.06 assists per set average. Roche previous won the award on February 3rd and February 17th for an Endicott squad that currently owns an 8-3 (4-0 NECC) record.

    BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men’s volleyball team joined Daniel Webster atop the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) standings with a perfect 4-0 record in-conference after the Gulls handed Elms a 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-21) loss on Saturday afternoon. Endicott held Elms to just a .024 hitting percentage as a result of 10 team blocks including six from senior middle Travis Netherton (Waukegan, Ill.).

    BEVERLY, Mass. – In a tri-match with NECC opponent Lesley and regional rival Wentworth, the Endicott men’s volleyball team spilt their two matches by defeating Lesley in straight sets (25-16, 25-10, 25-6) and dropping a five-set thriller to Wentworth (20-25, 25-23, 25-20, 23-25, 15-11). The Gulls saw their six-match winning streak end with the loss to the Leopards but Endicott maintains a strong 7-3 overall record with an undefeated 3-0 mark in NECC matches.

    BROOKLINE, Mass. - The Endicott men's volleyball ran their early season win-streak to five matches after defeating their New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) opponent Newbury 3-0 (25-21, 25-8, 25-21) on Wednesday evening on the road. The Gulls improved to 6-2 (2-0 NECC) on the season thanks in part to a match-high 16 kills from sophomore outside hitter John Osborne (Freehold, N.J.) and a career-high 16 digs from junior defensive specialist Kristian Catalan (Sudbury, Mass.).

    BEVERLY, Mass. - Endicott senior setter Carter Roche (Clifton Park, N.Y.) collected his second New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week award this season after averaging nearly 11 assists per set in a 3-0 week for the Gulls. Roche has led the Gulls to a four-match winning streak that includes a conference opener victory over Regis, a five-set comeback over Emerson, and the program's first win over Vassar since 2009.

    BOSTON, Mass. – The Endicott men’s volleyball team has won four straight matches after sweeping a tri-match with non-conference rivals Emerson and Vassar on Saturday. The Gulls fell in a two-set hole against the host Emerson but stormed back to win in five sets and in the next match, Endicott carried that momentum to garner their first win over Vassar since the 2009 season.
