BEVERLY, Mass. – It only seems fitting that senior \#A.J. Witkofsky\# (Scotia, N.Y.) scored the final three points on Senior Night to cap off his record-breaking career, as the Gulls swept the University of New Haven, 3-0, in non-conference men’s volleyball action on Tuesday evening in Beverly, Mass. Endicott, which improves to 27-7 overall, now focuses its attention on a NECVA quarterfinal match against Emmanuel on Friday on Cape Cod.

The Gulls opened the evening with a 30-16 win behind five first set kills from Witkofsky. Seniors \#James Sliva\# (Monroe, Conn.) and \#B.J. Worth\# (Londonderry, N.H.) posted four kills apiece in the night’s opening game, while \#David Lowe\# (Burnt Hill, N.Y.) had five digs.

Endicott grabbed game two, 30-19, as Witkofsky once again led the way with six kills and three total blocks. \#Zeke Kubisch\# (Bethlehem, N.Y.) had four kills while senior \#John Emery\# (Westford, Mass.) tallied three. The Gulls swung at a .548 clip in the middle game, committing just five errors 34 attempts.

A 30-16 win in game three wrapped up the evening with the final three points coming on back-to-back blocks and a match-ending kill by Witkofsky. Emery added four kills in the frame, while \#Ben Foster\# (Penfield, N.Y.), Jeremy Siden (Natick, Mass.) and Witkofsky each scored three.

\#A.J. Witkofsky\# finished the night with 14 kills on 26 attempts with no errors, good for a .538 attack percentage. The senior standout also had four solo and two assisted blocks in the win. \#John Emery\# had 10 kills and \#James Sliva\# finished with eight. \#Ben Foster\# handed out 48 assists and \#B.J. Worth\# scored four kills and tallied nine digs.

The University of New Haven was led by a pair of 10 kill outings from Peter Kazlas (Allentown, Pa.) and Gregg Brisbin (Laurel Springs, N.J.). Sophomore setter Ryan Earl (Greenville, N.Y.) had 25 assists while John Sedlock (Shelton, Conn.) posted 13 digs.

Endicott enters the NECVA weekend playoffs as the No. 5 seed and will meet 12th-seeded Emmanuel College on Friday at 6:00 p.m. The winner plays into the Philadelphia Biblical and Hunter College victor on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. The University of New Haven will conclude its season on April 14th against Sacred Heart University.
