BENNINGTON, Vt. – The Endicott College men’s volleyball team defeated Southern Vermont College by matching scores of 3-0 on Thursday night in a rare double-header between the NECVA New England Division foes. The Gulls disposed of the Mountaineers by scores of 30-13, 30-14, 30-17 in game one and followed that up with set scores of 30-12, 30-12, 30-19.

Endicott improves to 21-5 overall (10-1 NECVA), while Southern Vermont slips to 1-14 (1-11 NECVA).

The Gulls were led by senior \#James Silva\# (Monroe, Conn.) who had 10 kills in each match. Senior setter \#Ben Foster\# (Penfield, N.Y.) had 29 assists on the night in only two games, and backup sophomore \#Jeremy Schlosser\# (Emmaus, Pa.) had 47 assists in Foster’s relief. Junior \#Jordan Durant\# (Honolulu, Hawaii) led in the second contest with a match-high 13 kills.

The Mountaineers were led by sophomore Cam Herrington who finished with nine kills. Junior Jullian Amaral led SVC’s defensive stance with 19 digs overall. Junior setter Neel Patel tallied 21 assists overall, while freshman Chris Williams notched eight kills for Southern Vermont.

The Gulls out-blocked the Mountaineers 14-3 overall and had 17 aces on the night as it remains the top team to beat in the New England Division of the NECVA.

The Blue and Green return to action on March 20th as the Gulls travel to Providence, R.I. for a tri-match with Johnson & Wales University and Hunter College. EC faces off with JWU at 12:00 p.m. and follows that up with a match against Hunter at 2:00 p.m. Southern Vermont takes on Wentworth and Newbury College on Saturday as a part of a tri-match at Newbury College.
