Gulls erase two-game deficit, edge Sacred Heart

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Endicott College erased a two-game deficit, rallying from behind to defeat Sacred Heart University, 3-2, on Friday evening in Fairfield, Conn. The Gulls used set scores of 29-31, 20-30, 30-27, 30-25 and 15-13 to edge the Pioneers.

Endicott’s \#A.J. Witkofsky\# (Scotia, N.Y.) was a terror at the net for the Gulls, now 8-4. The senior posted had a match-high 24 kills and hit an impressive .412. He also had seven total blocks to go along with 12 digs. Classmate \#John Emery\# (Westford, Mass.) also had a standout night, notching 15 kills and four total blocks in the win. \#Ben Foster\# (Penfield, N.Y.) had 55 assists for the Blue and Green.

Sacred Heart senior Kalani Efstathiou led the Pioneers with 23 kills. Craig Harvey had 11 and Tim Sadowski ten. Mike Komlanc had a strong defensive game for the Pioneers with ten total blocks.

The loss dropped Sacred Heart to 3-5 this season. The Pioneers will look to bounce back against Hunter College tomorrow night in the Pitt Center at 7:30 p.m. Endicott returns to action tomorrow against Lasell at 6:00 p.m. in Beverly, Mass.
