Gulls sweep past Regis, 3-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott College men’s volleyball team cruised to an easy 3-0 victory over visiting Regis College on Tuesday night in North East Collegiate Volleyball Association New England Division action in Beverly, Mass. The Gulls downed the Pride in straight sets with scores of 30-13, 30-9 and 30-12 to improve to 6-2 overall and 3-0 in the NECVA New England Division. Regis falls to 0-8 and 0-3 in league games while the first year program continues to search for its first win.

The Pride hung with the Gulls at the beginning of the match as a kill by Zatrick Pinkney (Nantucket, Mass.) made it a 4-3 score in the first game. Endicott would go on a 20-6 run to put Regis away and never looked back in taking the first game, 30-13.

Endicott wasted no time in the second game as the Gulls built a 16-3 lead before Regis was forced to call a timeout. The Gulls’ \#Jeremy Siden\# (Natick, Mass.) and \#Jeremy Schlosser\# (Emmaus, Pa.) helped lead the attack as they served on 11 of Endicott’s points in the run. Siden and Schlosser combined for the final two points of the game as Siden grabbed back-to-back kills for the 30-9 win.

Jeremy Siden led the attack again in the final game as he served on 10 of Endicott’s points for an 11-2 lead. The Gulls never allowed Regis back into the game as Endicott posted a final game win of 30-12.

Endicott’s \#B.J. Worth\# (Londonderry, N.H.) and \#Joshua Bruno\# (Andover, Mass.) each posted game-highs in kills with seven apiece. Schlosser handed out a game-high 19 assists while Worth also added a game-high eight digs. Regis was led by four kills from Andrew Carroll (Natick, Mass.) who also had a team-high six digs.

The Blue and Green return to action on Saturday as the Gulls travel to the Stevens Institute of Technology for a tri-match with Stevens and Vassar, with the first match being played at 12:00 p.m. Regis continues the search for its first program win when it travels to Johnson & Wales for a 4:00 p.m. match on Saturday.
