Western New England Picked to Win in Men’s Lacrosse Preseason Poll

BEVERLY, Mass. – Based on a vote of league head coaches, Western New England University was picked to win the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship in the 2024 men’s lacrosse preseason poll. The Golden Bears earned seven first-place votes.

The league Champions with an NCAA Tournament appearance a year ago, WNE returns reigning CCC Rookie of the Year Chris Catuosco and eight All-Conference selections. Golden Bears Dylan Hanley (third team) and Catusco (honorable mention) earned 2024 USILA Preseason All-America nods earlier this month.

Endicott finished second and earned one first-place vote. Eric Hagarty, the 2023 CCC Coach of the Year, returns Short-Stick Specialist of the Year Ethan Cupples and seven All-Conference honorees. The Gulls advanced to their 10th-straight league Championship game last year and finished 13-5 overall and 8-0 in CCC play.

Roger Williams rounded out the top three. The Hawks finished 9-7 overall and 5-3 in CCC action last year. RWU returns all six of its 2023 All-Conference players.

The rounds of the 2024 CCC Tournament will be held April 27-May 4.
