Grant Garrity Claims USILA All-America Honorable Mention Accolades

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott men's lacrosse senior defender Grant Garrity (Duxbury, Mass.) has received United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-America Honorable Mention accolades. It was announced by the organization earlier today.

With today's announcement, Garrity is just the second defender in program history to be named a USILA All-America Honorable Mention recipient twice in his career. Garrity joins Breck Merritt '15 (Weston, Mass.), who claimed his honors in 2013 and 2014, on the illustrious list.

Garrity played in all 19 games on the schedule for the Gulls this season. He amassed 32 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers, which ranks him 12th and 47th overall, respectively, in those categories among the rest of his Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) peers.

Garrity also was a major factor in helping the Gulls rank first overall in the CCC in goals against average (8.37), total goals against (161) and caused turnovers (164), tied for first in most clears (343), second in clear percentage (.815), and third in ground balls (639). In conference-only games, the Gulls ranked first in goals against average (6.88) and total goals against (55), second in caused turnovers (68) and ground balls (306), third in clear percentage (.811), and sixth in most clears (137).

Meanwhile, in his career, Garrity played in 68 games and recorded 70 caused turnovers and 110 ground balls. He ranks fourth all-time in caused turnovers and seventh all-time in caused turnovers per game (1.03). Garrity also ranks tied for eighth all-time in games started with 62.

Aside from his career ranks, Garrity is a three-time CCC Academic All-Conference selection, was honored with the CCC Scholar-Athlete award this season, and is a multiple Dean's List recipient. His postseason athletic awards include the following: 2019 NEILA All-Region Third Team, 2019 All-CCC First Team, 2018 IMLCA Northeast Region Honorable Mention, 2018 USILA All-America Honorable Mention, 2018 All-CCC First Team, and 2017 All-CCC Second Team.

YEAR IN REVIEW

Endicott posted an 11-8 record and 7-1 mark in conference play. The Gulls earned the No. 2 seed in the CCC Tournament and defeated Wentworth (20-4) and Roger Williams (12-11, 3OT) to advance to the CCC Championship, but, ultimately, fell to top-ranked Western New England, 9-8.
