Bowdoin Edges Men’s Lacrosse In Overtime, 8-7

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Bowdoin freshman attack Will Murtagh (Marblehead, Mass.) scored with 1:12 to play in overtime to lift the Polar Bears past Endicott, 8-7, on Wednesday night at Whittier Field.

Trailing 7-6 with under two minutes to play in the contest, the Gulls forced overtime behind Jack Sutherland's (Sudbury, Mass.) game-tying goal at the 1:27 mark of the fourth off an assist from John Koebel (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.).

Meanwhile, in overtime, both teams had one scoring chance each before Murtagh buried the game-winner.

Sutherland paced Endicott's offense with a hat-trick, while A.J. MacDonald (New Fairfield, Conn.), Neal Parry (Marshfield, Mass.), Derek Yannone (Lynnfield, Mass.), and Sam Abate (Beverly, Mass.) all found the back of the net once in the loss.
