CAMBRIDGE, MASS. - Six fourth-period goals helped Endicott College defeat MIT, 10-8, in men's lacrosse action on Thursday. Isaac Taylor and Tom Hennessey each tallied a pair of goals for the Engineers (4-3). Burt Fahy finished with a game-high six points on three goals and three assists for the Gulls (6-5). Corey Fox put Endicott on the scoreboard 1:10 into the game by connecting on a pass from Kevin Lally. Tech's Tyler Sorba tallied the equalizer at the 10:40 mark. Lally gave the Gulls a 2-1 advantage by scoring on a feed from Burt Fahy. MIT scored the lone goal in the second period to tie the game at 2-2. Isaac Taylor set up Tom Hennessey for a man-advantage goal at 7:04. Coming out of halftime, the Engineers rattled off four unanswered goals to take a 6-2 lead with 4:51 left. Jonathan Stolmeier ignited the run with an unassisted goal at 12:32. Tom Hennessey earned a point for each of Tech's next two goals. First, he assisted in a goal by Carter Powers and then he took the ball to the net by himself. Scott Purchase capped the run by scoring on a pass from Stolmeier. After being held scoreless for nearly 20 minutes, Endicott's Burt Fahy ended the drought by connecting on a feed from Elliot Diesenhaus at the 3:45 mark. Less than two minutes later, Paul Lord found Sam Chidester to bring the Gulls within two (6-4). Entering the final period, MIT was awarded a three-minute extra-man opportunity due to an illegal equipment penalty against Endicott. In what could have been the turning point of the game for the Engineers, their offense struggled to generate offensive momentum. Instead, Endicott's Paul Lord tallied a man-down goal to cut Tech's lead to one and start the comeback run. Burt Fahy tied the game at the 10:10 mark and then assisted in the go-ahead goal by Josh Maciorowski 46 seconds later. Sam Chidester extended the Gulls' lead to two (8-6) by scoring on a pass from Greg Colcord. Lord set up Fahy for what proved to be the game-winning goal with 4:07 left to play. Lord then posted the final goal in the run, connecting on a feed from Kevin Lally. Isaac Taylor ended a 20 minute scoring drought for MIT by tallying goals with 39 and 10 seconds left in regulation. In the goal, Zach Brewer finished with nine saves for MIT while Endicott's Matt Bagshaw collected 12. The Gulls will resume Commonwealth Coast Conference action on Saturday, April 17 at 1:00 p.m. when it travels to New England College.
