Gulls Defeated in Overtime Against Connecticut College, 11-10

The Gulls trailed the Connecticut College Camels 4-1 at the close of the first quarter; Sam Chidester (Jr,Eliot,ME) scored the opening goal of the game for the Gulls. The Gulls would fight back strong tying the Camels in the third quarter 3-3 to close out the first half of play trailing 7-4.

The second quarter scoring for the gulls was Burt Fahy (Jr,Needham,MA) assisted by Dan Ryan (Fr,Billerica,MA), Chidester assisted Kevin Lally (So,Derry,NH), and an unassisted goal by Paul Lord (Sr,Derry,NH).

The Gulls outscored the Camels in the second half of play 6-3. Lally led the scoring on an unassisted goal, and then Lord on an assisted goal by Lally to close out the third quarter of action. To close the 6-8. The fourth quarter of play was led by Jeff Clattenburg (Fr,Concord,NH) scored on a fast break on the defensive end of the field, the goal by Clattenburg was assisted by defensemen Ryan Fraine (So,Billerica,MA). The next possession was taken by face-off man Corey Fox (Sr,Weymouth,MA) who won a clean face off and scored on a uassisted goal to narrow the margin to a two goal camel lead. Dan Ryan found the back of the net on an assisted goal by Fahy only seventeen second after Fox's goal to make it a one-goal game. Fox would again control the opening face off and score his second unassisted goal of the game to tie the contest with only 2 minutes left in regulation.

The Camels regained possession of the ball with only 1:30 left in regulation but goalie Matt Bagshaw (Gr,Framingham,MA) would stop the Camel offense. A defensive unit of Josh Maciorowski (Jr,Guilford,CT), Rick Hancock (Fr,Wading River,NY), Mike Clifford (Jr,Wilbraham,MA) and Patrick Gaffney (Fr,Worcester,MA) to close out the Camel offense. The Gulls would have one last opportunity on the offensive side of the ball but failed to score in regulation. The Camels would then control the overtime period scoring in sudden death overtime.

The Gulls will face off against Commonwealth Coast Conference Opponent Curry College on April 14th at 4:00pm in Milton, MA.
