Gulls Glide By Huskies, 18-1

The Gulls came out strong against the University of Southern Maine Huskies Tuesday night at Endicott Stadium. The Gulls glided past the Huskies 18-1.

The Gulls had eleven players in the scoring column. Sophomore Kevin Lally led the squad with six assists and a goal, while junior Burt Fahy had four goals and three assists. Freshman defenseman Rick Hancock scored his first collegiate goal on a fast break in the second half of play. Freshman Dan Ryan chipped in three goals, senior captain Paul Lord had three goals and two assists, freshman Jeff Clattenburg had two assists, senior captain Corey Fox had three goals and an assist, sophomore Nate Tower had one assist and freshman Jamie Eppinger had two goals. To close out the scoring junior defenseman Pat Phelan had an assist.

The Endicott defense was stellar throughout the game, Graduate Student Matt Bagshaw had six saves while allowing only one goal, with five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, before being replaced by sophomore Jeff Pardue.

Senior captain Scott Bartush, led the defense, and also having terrific performances were: junior Mike Clifford, sophomores Ryan Fraine, Brian Tompkins, Brian Kelly. Freshmen Greg Russo, Brian Thierfeld, Patrick Gaffney, Zared Shai.

The Gulls face off against CCC rival, Roger Williams University at 4:00pm, Thursday March 25, at Endicott Stadium.
