Montagnino Named As First D3Hoops.com Preseason All-American In Program History
BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott men's basketball graduate student forward Marcus Montagnino (Gloucester, Mass.) has been named as the program's first ever D3Hoops.com Preseason All-American, the organization announced this past Friday.
Montagnino was named as a fifth team honoree. He is the first student-athlete in Endicott men's basketball program history to receive Preseason All-America honors (from any organization). He is the lone representative from the Conference of New England (CNE), and is just one of two representing Region II on a Preseason All-America team.
Last season, Montagnino led the team in scoring (559 points; 22.4 PPG), assists (114; 4.6 per game), steals (52; 2.1 per game), field goal percentage (59.4%), and minutes played (827).
His averages of 22.4 points, 8.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 2.1 steals per game all ranked top three in the Conference of New England (CNE).
On the national scale, his points per game ranked 16th in Division III, while his assists ranked T-42nd, his steals ranked T-76th, and his rebounds ranked 86th.
Additionally, his shooting numbers of 59.4% from the field, 44.8% from deep, and 80.9% from the free throw line each ranked among the top of the charts across the NCAA.
Among other achievements, he was named as the CNE Player of the Year, a D3hoops.com All-Region II First-Teamer, an NABC All-District II First-Teamer, and now an NABC All-American Third-Teamer.
Across Endicott's record books last season, Montagnino recorded the highest total points, rebounds, assists (PRA) in program single-season history (883). He also recorded the program's second ever triple-double (first in regulation) on January 18 (33 points, 11 rebounds, 13 assists) while also tying the program single-game assists record.

Endicott opens up its 2025-26 campaign this Friday. It tips off in the Emmanuel College Tip-Off Tournament this Friday against John Jay at 5:30 PM.
