Sean Golden enters his third year as an assistant coach with the Endicott football program in 2020. Golden serves as the program's defensive coordinator and also coaches the secondary.

This past season (2019), Golden guided Endicott to No. 1 conference rankings in points per game allowed (18.4), points allowed (202), interceptions (18), defensive touchdowns (2), and blocked kicks (9). The Gulls were the only team in the conference to allow less than 20.0 points per game and the only team to give up 210 points or less. Nationally, Endicott ranked No. 2 in blocked kicks, No. 15 in blocked punts, No. 9 in interceptions, No. 65 in red zone defense, No. 42 in scoring defense, No. 41 in team passing efficiency defense (110.07), No. 21 in turnover margin (1.00), and No. 25 in turnovers gained (25).

Meanwhile, in his first year as defensive coordinator/defensive backs coach in 2018, Golden led the Gulls' defensive unit to the third-best points per game mark (27.5) in the conference and league-best figures in tackles per game (82.6) and total tackles (909).

Golden also coached four student-athletes to All-Conference honors (two first-teamers / two second-teamers) and one student-athlete to NEFW All-Region accolades.

Golden joined the Endicott staff after spending two years on the Assumption College football staff. While at Assumption, Golden worked with the strong safeties and served as video coordinator for the program.

Beyond his positional group responsibilities, Golden aided Assumption to its farthest postseason run in school history. The Greyhounds also ranked in the top-25 on the AFCA Division II National Poll during both the 2016 and 2017 seasons, respectively. During the 2017 season, Assumption ranked as high as No. 8 in the country, captured the NE10 championship and advanced to the Elite 8 round of the NCAA Division II Tournament.

In addition to those accolades, Golden coached three All-Conference honorees, including Jarrod Casey to an All-Super Region selection in 2016. Meanwhile, Golden's efforts with the defense resulted in the Greyhounds ranking first overall among all NCAA Division II programs in interceptions and turnovers gained. Assumption also was first in the NE10 in defensive touchdowns, fumble recoveries, interceptions, red zone defense, scoring defense, pass efficiency defense, sacks, and turnovers.

Prior to Assumption, Golden coached at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (defensive backs) from 2014-15 and Stonington High School (defensive backs/wide receivers/freshman head coach) from 2012-13.

While at WPI, the Engineers won seven games in 2015 - their most since 1992 - and reached the postseason for the third time in program history. Golden also coached four All-Conference selections (two in each season), including one Merc Morris All-Star in 2015.

At Stonington, Golden aided the program to back-to-back conference championships in 2012 and 2013 and coached an All-Conference selection in 2013.

A 2012 cum laude graduate of Fitchburg State University with a Bachelor of Science in History and a minor in American Studies, Golden was a four-year starter for the Falcons' football program as a defensive back playing corner and safety. Golden was a four-time New England Football Conference (NEFC) All-Academic Team selection, Team Rookie of the Year honoree (2008), NEFC Defensive Player of the Week award winner (2008), and a Worcester All-Area All-Star (2008). Golden also claimed National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete honors in 2008.

Golden went on to complete his Master's of Science in Sport Management (MS) from Southern New Hampshire University in 2020.
