Wartburg Remains Undefeated In Conference
Wartburg (Iowa) remains undefeated in conference play following their hard-fought 14-7 victory over previously ranked No. 21 Coe (Iowa). Both teams showcased top-tier defensive performances on Saturday night. The Kohawks had a chance to tie it up with just four seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, but Wartburg’s defense came through with a critical sack to seal the victory. With this win, Wartburg extends its series lead over Coe to 29-13, marking their seventh consecutive victory in this matchup. The Knights climbed to No. 11 in this week’s AFCA Division III Coaches Poll, presented by Hudl, while the Kohawks have fallen out of the rankings.
Wisconsin-La Crosse continues to ascend the polls following their impressive win over previously ranked No. 9 Wisconsin-River Falls. Trailing 17-14 at the start of the second half, the Eagles’ defense delivered a stellar shutout in the third quarter and allowed only seven points in the fourth. Meanwhile, the Eagle offense consistently found the end zone, scoring a touchdown in each quarter to secure a 28-24 win over the Falcons. With this victory, Wisconsin-La Crosse improves to 4-3 overall and 2-2 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, moving up to No. 21 this week.
